Alger Wilson
"Mr. Hanged Man" — Sea Captain of the Church of Storms, Master Tactician, and Maritime Scholar.
Character Overview
Alger Wilson is a captain in the Church of the Lord of Storms and the commander of the ghost ship Blue Avenger. Born of mixed heritage, Alger overcame social prejudice and institutional rigidity through his sharp intellect, relentless ambition, and tactical cunning.
Pulled into Sefirah Castle alongside Audrey Hall during the first meeting, Alger adopted the title Mr. Hanged Man. Highly suspicious yet deeply practical, Alger initially mistook Mr. Fool for a reawakening ancient god, using his maritime position to trade secret intelligence and ancient artifacts in exchange for potion formulas.
Role as Club Tactician
In the early sessions of the Tarot Club, Alger acted as the informal leader and instructor, guiding new members like Audrey and Derrick on Beyonder laws, acting methods, and hidden faction dynamics. His deep knowledge of maritime lore, pirate admirals, and ancient ruins made him invaluable to Mr. Fool’s growing prestige.
